A Family-Focused + Music-Inspired Barn Wedding

Meet a lawyer Rebecca, and John, who's an estate agent.

.

They were married around 8 September 2018 in the very lovely in Trevor, Denbighshire. Not only may be the venue a converted 250-year-old cattle barn, but additionally, it also boasts a sandstone railway bridge, too.

John wore an excellent three-piece grey tweed suit, along with a wonderful mixture of gifted and heirloom accessory pieces, including his grandfather's watch and armbands, a hip flask provided to him by his sister, along with a pocket watch gifted by his parents.

Together using the groomsmen, John wore a pale mint green bow tie (to enhance the sage green bridesmaid dresses), and also the groomsmen's suits came thanks to Wrexham.

"One thing I was certain of from the beginning was that I was using a veil. When would I get another opportunity to wear one?! My dress was built with a little bit of the train, but I desired to make it a bit more dramatic and thus added an extended veil."

"I must have tried over 100 dresses from various high-street suppliers before finding the gown. It was difficult to get something to enhance my dress, which was quite 1920s Art Deco, without them looking like fancy dress outfits. I, therefore, chose a sequin dress, having a tulle skirt to enhance mine. I wanted all of them to be comfortable but look incredible, that they did obviously!"

Rebecca was accompanied on the aisle by her dad, and it had been an important and emotional moment on their behalf both.

"Despite my father and I being very emotional people, we were able to keep it together and in time towards the music!"

This infectious happiness was captured to perfection by Rebecca and John's chosen photographer Damian, whose work we're thrilled to feature here today.

"After the venue, Damian was the very first thing we booked. We spent ages attempting to find a photographer we chose to get on well with. It was vital to possess a more natural look, once we are both quite awkward about having our pictures taken."

"I love that Damian doesn't use any bulky equipment, and the man uses the natural light so expertly. Most of our guests didn't even realize he was the photographer. He wasn't pushy or interfering, he made us feel so comfortable, and I am so pleased we trusted him, as he was able to create some amazing photographs."

Rebecca and John showcased their love of music in other facets of their decor, too, having the main focus being John's group of drums, which were built with a personalized wedding drum skin.

"We then arrange it in a corner from the venue, together with vast amounts of dressing gear my mum and pa accumulated through the years. It was an excellent hit, and I loved witnessing my best friends dressing as angry birds, wearing a crown and palm tree glasses, whilst attempting to play the drums with these personalized drum sticks."

"We cannot pick only one favorite part of the wedding. It was honestly this kind of incredible day and went by in a flash. Some of our highlights were walking on the aisle, the meals, creating the photos using smoke bombs, our first dance, dancing the nighttime away with this family and friends, and my buddy running around the venue putting glitter on everyone's faces. There isn't anything I would change about our day. It was incredible from start to finish."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I think one key bit of advice is to complete what is best for you and your partner. You will want to make your day special for everybody, however, you will probably not please everyone. You must stay true to what you as well as your partner envision for that day. That being said, that doesn't mean you shouldn't most probably to ideas and suggestions. It's sometimes good to defend myself against board other people's advice, but simply ensure you don't allow it to overshadow that which you want in the day."
